It was formerly known as Sass Squad and became well-known in the late 1990s. Hit songs including “Nana Esi,” “Kwakyemu,” “Menya Obaa Fefe,” “Serwaa,” and “Wongye,” among others, made them famous.

Fiifi Selah claims that Samini and Shatta Wale were inspired by his music to write their early hits, which helped kickstart their careers in the music business.

Fiifi Selah claimed in a Friday, March 15 interview with Joy Prime that “Samini copied me.” He wrote his song “Linda” after listening to my music. Before becoming Shatta Wale, he also listened to one of my Sass Squad tracks. I was the source of all of them.”

Fiifi Selah affirmed his position as a pioneer in the reggae-dancehall genre, implying that other artists have followed his example. He also recalled how, while hosting a radio show, he actively promoted reggae-dancehall music, contributing to the genre’s increased recognition in Ghana.

“Within my time, reggae-dancehall became big in Ghana,” he said.

Fiifi Selah asserted that only Sarkodie could match his flow, claiming that his rap style is distinct and difficult to imitate.”Nobody can rap my rap; only Sarkodie can do it because my rap is hard to get,” he claimed.
