Police officers who sold AK47 rifle to civilian at Weija interdicted

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has directed that three police officers who are alleged to have sold an AK47 rifle to a civilian at Weija be interdicted.

Sergeant Stanley Mensah, Corporal Emanuel Takyi of Weija Police Station and Corporal Simon Osei of the Rapid Deployment Force are the officers facing the interdiction.

In a statement signed by police Director-General, Public Affairs, ACP David Eklu, he said the three officers and one civilian, Ibrahim Tetteh who allegedly bought the rifle, are in police custody and would be processed for court without delay.

“Meanwhile, the AK47 rifle has been retrieved”, the statement added.
