Two people are reported dead after heavy rains ravaged parts of Koforidua in
the Eastern Region on Sunday.
The town was submerged in flood waters which washed away parked vehicles
and other property. Some residents sustained various degrees of injury as well.
Ferdinand Akuffo Baah, a freelance journalist who toured the town with the
National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) told Citi News that they
found two people dead in a taxi after being trapped in the flood waters.
Yesterday, the meteorological agency warned of a storm in Accra but it is
unclear whether that also affected parts of the Eastern Region.
