MUSLIM MEN URGED TO STOP ABUSING THEIR WIVES.

Muslim men has been advised to desist from abusing their wives, stating that,
hundreds of Muslim women and children are mostly affected by the act of abuse in marriages in Ghana according to a police Report in the Shai Osudoku District. This was revealed during at a festival held at Shai Osudoku in the Greater Accra Region. Speaking at the event which was under the theme, ‘festival of Sacrifice’ Dagomba chief who doubles as the Zongo Chief of Ashaley Botwe in the Grater Accra Region. Alhaji Yakubu Moli Abdul Kadir lauded the continuous unity” between the Dangme and Muslim the community and other faiths in the District
and called on all to continue to live in harmony.

 

Alhaji Alhassan Latif Lugsana Dagomba chief for Shai Osudoku also called on benevolent indiviuals and orgnisations to come on board and assist the community improve on some of the infrastructures and other facilities which are in a very deplorable state in Shai Osuduku and its environs.

The chief also used the occasion to draw attention of the authorities to the plight of the Zongo communites and called on all and sundry to lend a hand of support to address their challenges.

The Shai Osudoku District police commander speaking at the event called on the public to eschew acts of defilement which is on the rise in the District as well as cases of child marriage.

The special guest, Nene Tei Djahene Korabo lV, the acting chariman of Shai Traditional Council and Divional Chief of Manya urged all Muslims, no matter their financial status should desist from abusing their wives and children, adding that, the act of betrothing young girls and forcing them into marriage is not the best must be stopped.

The chariman of the programme, Lawyer Dr. Ebenezer Djagbletey, Oprations
Director of Ghana foresty commission admonished the Mulsim community to embrace and respect each other’s view to foster inclusiveness and acceptability in the society.
He urged the youth to desist from tarnishing the image of the Islamic religion by way of negative acts.
