I will quit NPP and join NDC if… – Obiri Boahene

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahene has vowed to quit the NPP and join the ruling National Democratic (NDC) if the police fails to arrest and investigate Abdulai Naba, brother of Collins Dauda, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.

Naaba Abdulai, disclosed on live radio a weeks ago that he and some unnamed persons kill people every day, and will not hesitate to murder any supporter of the NPP who tries to attack members of the ruling NDC during the December 7 elections.

He also vowed to deal ruthlessly with Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong – who has threatened to deal with him if he interferes with the voting process at Asutifi South in the Brong Ahafo Region on Election Day – insisting he Naaba) is more experienced in killing people hence he will not sit down for anybody to threaten him.

Speaking to Kwabena Prah Junior on Agyenkwa FM, Naaba Abdulai said: “I Naaba, I’m a fearless person, NPP are now trying to learn how to shoot guns, but some of us have handled guns for more than 20 years now. How can you compare yourself to me? Kennedy Agyepong is just bragging, if he dares steps here on Election Day, he’ll be arrested and beaten mercilessly. If he comes here and threaten to kill anyone, I swear we’ll finish him first. He should go and teach people how to shoot in his constituency…as for us, we kill people every day. If they are ready, we are ready too. My life is dear to me; I’ll not allow anyone to threaten me” he declared.

There have since been several calls for his arrest but no action has been taken by the police.

Four persons have meanwhile filed a motion on notice for mandamus at the High Court seeking to compel the Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor, to arrest and investigate Abdulai Naba.

Lawyer Obiri Boahene in an interview with Adom News said, he is skeptical the police will on its own volition effect the arrest of Naaba.

“The day [Inspector General of Police John] Kudalor invites Naaba for interrogations, I will quit being a member of the NPP to join NDC” he stated.

The NPP man could not fathom why the police is sitting aloof whiles someone whiles someone who has confessed to murder is walking a free man.

“How can Kudalor behave as though he is not a police officer? He is just incompetent. I know that people like Kofi Boakye, Ken Yeboah and even Rose Atinga would have put an end to that nonsense. It is disgusting” he said angrily.
