FANTEAKWA NORTH RECORDS 9 STILLBIRTHS IN 1ST QUARTER 2023

The Fanteakwa North Health Directorate has bemoaned the high rate of stillbirths in the district, describing the situation as worrying.

This followed the shocking revelation that 9 cases of stillbirths have occurred in the district from January to April this year, with the majority of affected victims coming from the rural areas.

Speaking to FlyTv gh during a presentation of hospital equipment to the BEGORO district hospital by a philanthropist Gaberiel Kesse Yeboah, the District director of health services, Kojo Owusu Ansah express worry over the situation, attributing it to failure by pregnant mothers to visit the hospitals when referred coupled with poverty are among the causes of the current rate in the district.

He, therefore, called on pregnant mothers to prioritize their safety during pregnancy periods by frequenting health facilities for antenatal care rather than relying on herbalists.

On his part, Gaberiel Kesse Yeboah has called on all stakeholders in the district to do the little they can to improve the condition of the health facilities in the area.
