Ghana U-17 Women’s Team the Black Maidens thrashed hosts Uruguay in the opening game of the U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Black Maidens thrashed Les Celestes 5-0 in the U-17 Women’s World Cup opener.
The Maidens took the lead in the 20th minute when Fuseina Mumuni scored the first goal of the game and the Captain of the Maidens Mukarama Abdulai added the second goal in the 25th minute.
The first half ended with Ghana leading with 2 goals.
Milot Pokuaa added the third goal in the 66th minute. The Maidens’ Captain had her second goal in the 78th minute and that wasn’t the end of goals for the Maidens as the captain scored her third goal in 90+1 minute.
The game ended 5:0 against the host Nation. However the host nation got a standing ovation from their fans.
The Captain of the Maidens, Mukarama Abdulai was named player of the Match with 3 goals and 1 assist.
The result puts the Maidens on top of group A with 3 points and 5 goals after New Zealand beat Finland by a goal.
Ghana will play against Finland next on Friday.
