Man lynched for ‘stealing’ GH¢1.50

A 55-year-old man has been lynched at a drinking spot for allegedly stealing GH¢1, 50 pesewas.

The deceased, Kofi Amoako Sensen was beaten to death after the owner of the pub accused him of stealing her money.

This unfortunate incident occurred at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East district of the Central region.

Brother of the deceased, Akwesi Boadi who confirmed this unfortunate incident to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said his brother had finished having some drinks and was leaving when the owner said her money had been stolen.

The deceased who was the only one at the pub was accused of stealing the money thus when he denied stealing the money, the lady raised alarm.

Mr. Boadi said the residents, mostly men who rushed to the shop did not even ask his side of the story but pounced on the deceased and beat him to pulp.

Kofi Amoako who was vomiting blood was then rushed to the St Gregory hospital at Budumburam by some good Samaritans died shortly after arrival.

The family has reported the case to the police at Awutu Breku but the attackers and owner of the pub are currently at large.
