Former Real Madrid and Chelsea player learns he isn’t his children’s biological father

The 45-year-old former Chelsea player Geremi Njitap has filed for divorce after it was discovered through DNA testing that his wife’s previous lover is the father of both of their children.

According to The Sun, court records from Geremi’s native Cameroon accuse his wife, Laure, of undermining the serenity of their marriage with her actions.

These court documents characterize Laure’s behavior as “abject” and say that she has “repeated lies” in them, which have exacerbated their relationship’s disintegration.

The records also state that they are not parents to any children. Laure first claimed that the twins born in June 2008 belonged to Geremi, which led to their marriage.

But their marital peace was shattered, and significant psychological distress ensued from later revelations regarding the children’s true fatherhood.

During his brilliant career, which spanned 109 games for Chelsea between 2003 and 2007, Geremi—a well-known player in Cameroon’s football scene—scored four goals. He played at Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003 prior to joining Chelsea.
