MAN, 72, YEARS REMAND BY ASHAIMAN CIRCUIT COURT FOR FORGERING LAND DOCUMENTS

 

MAN, 72, YEARS REMAND BY ASHAIMAN CIRCUIT COURT. 

 

The Ashaiman Circuit Court remanded, Nene Terpertey Agblezey age 72 years, A Sub- Chief at Kordiabe.

An Accused person, Nene Terpertey Agblezey intent to deceive officers of the land commission of forgery of official document contrary to section 158 of the Criminal offences act 1960(act29).

The Complainant of Nene Tei Djahene in Ashaiman Circuit Court, Nene Tei Djahene he is the head and lawful representative of Manya Clan family of Jorpaya.

 

The police prosecuting,C/ lnsp. Nana Mensah said during the year 2012 the Complainant saw that a private company by Name kamsat Venture s has published in one of the National News papers preparing to Register 109.694 acres or 44.392 hectares of land situated at Asutsuare Junction.

He said on seeing that, the Complainant made a caveat to the land commission to Stop the registration, Complainant was invited to the land commission to meet the committe in charge of publishing and it was detected that the cadastral plan that has the Regional number as SGG341/05, unique Regional number of the manya Clan of Jorpaya which was done in 2005.

Thus the Reginal number SGGA 341/05 indicates a Transfer from manya Clan of Jorpaya to Terpertey Agbezey family.

Meanwhile manya Jorpaya Clan has not made any grant or Transfer to the accused and that the manya Jorpaya Clan has objected to the registration which the accused and his family wanted to Register.

A Complainant was lodged with the Doryumu District police which the matter was taken up for investigation.

According to the prosecution officer C/lnsp. Nana Mensah, he said on the 13th day of June 2012 at Asutsuare Junction and within jurisdiction, Nene Terpertey Agblezey, intent to deceive officers of forgery a lands document not belong for him to hes family.

But the land commission did forge the cadastral plan of the Manya Clan to Read SGG 341/05/11 instead of SGG 341/05.

In the cause of investigation it was revealed that the accused Nene Terpertey Agblezey was forged the land document so that the process for cadastral plan preparation for Terpertey Agblezey family would go through .

However on 23rd /7/2022 Doryumu District police wrote to the Land commission to request for comprehensive report on the transaction made by accused.

On 7/3/2023, Doryumu District police received a report from the land commission showing that accused forged the Regional number SGG accused was charged with the Offence and brought before this honourable court the investigator.

According to Circuit Court Judge (SGD) Simon Gaga, said by court study the facts since he have Just been engaged. that the counsel for accused did not file any application for bail for the accused.

ln view of the severity of the punishment which conviction will entail,”l cannot grant the accused bail.

More so counsel fail to tell the court whether the accused has people of substance to stand as sureties and also has a fixed place of abode.

Accused is therefore remided into police custody.

The Case is adjourned to 4th day of May 2023 for proscution.
