I will slap Ayariga for 'insulting' Nana Addo – Kennedy Agyapong

The Assin Central New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, Mr Kennedy
Agyapong has threatened to slap Mr Hassan Ayariga of the All People’s
Congress (APC) for questioning Nana Akufo-Addo’s continuous stay in his
father’s house at Nima in Accra.
The flagbearer of the APC had chastised Nana Akufo-Addo, claiming the 72-
year-old still lives in his father’s house in spite of his age. According to Mr
Ayariga, Nana Addo at the age of 72 should be thinking of retiring from active
politics and moving away from his father’s house.
“I made my first $1million at the age of 24 without working with any
government. I have never been in a government position; I have never worked
as a Minister for you to say I have stolen government money. I built my first
house at the age of 22…; at age 72, my senior and my father, Nana Akufo-Addo,
is still living in his father’s house. At this age 72, I would have retired from
politics and been advising young men of this country to move this country
forward and not contest with them anymore,” Ayariga said on Accra-based
Class FM.
He also argued that Nana Akufo-Addo and the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP)
flag bearer, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom have contributed to the hardship in the
country.
But in a response in a radio discussion programme on Asempa FM, Mr
Agyapong said he did not want to be provoked but if Ayariga were to be close
to him, he would have slapped him in the face. Mr Agyapong alleged that
Ayariga, a ‘pizza seller’, has been collecting monies from the ruling National
Democratic Congress (NDC) and that his [Ayariga] organiser/secretary have told
him [Agyapong] he collected money from the NDC and faked a cough during the
2012 IEA presidential debate to disturb Nana Addo.
He therefore cautioned him to keep quiet else he would expose him.
He accused him of buying houses in West Legon in Accra from monies he
collected from people.
According to Mr Agyapong, Nana Addo has a house at East Legon in Accra and
Ayariga was in no way comparable to Nana Addo and insisted it was because
“Politics was cheap” that was why Ayariga could be making such comments.
“I don’t want to get annoyed but issues of this nature gets me annoyed”, he
fumed and threatened, “I would have slapped him if he were to be close to me.”
