History has a very interesting way of repeating itself. On the 8th August 2020, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II – the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anwhiaso Traditional Council together with his nephew, Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu who doubles as Western North Regional Minister and MP for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency called all his sub-chiefs to his palace and gave them a strong warning that should anyone allow Alfred Obeng Boateng or any npp group to campaign in their respective town, he will be sanctioned accordingly which could be a destoolment because his direct nephew lost in the just ended NPP internal primary election and delegates didn’t respect him. He further stated that the defeat had brought disgrace to the thrown and no amount of apology from anybody could pacify the gods and Nananom.
“So I will do my possible best to suppress NPP vote margin in this constituency and beyond to teach the leadership a lesson for their failure to disqualify that Alfred Obeng-Boateng who is not true even a true Sefwi. Who doesn’t know that they are just settlers in this community?”. Ogyeahoho stressed.
In the light of this, itreminds me the first time NPP Presidential Candidate Kuffour went to Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II’s palace in the year 1996 where Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II almost drove him away and openly and childishly said Ashantis are arrogant and disrespectful so he (Ogyeahoho) could not support NPP.
What has changed for Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II to support NPP now?
1. Is it because he is on GNPC board now?
2. Is it because his direct nephew Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu is the MP now.
3. Is it because he is the president of the Western Regional House of Chiefs
To us we honestly believe that Ogyeahoho is only pretending for his selfish gain considering his behaviour towards our party.
We the Concern Youths of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai have also realized that Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II is an opportunist in the sense that his interest always supersedes the interest of NPP that is why he is pursuing such evil agenda against our Flagbearer and aspiring MP.
We are calling on the national executives to bring down experts to gather intelligence on the happening within Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai constituency before things go out of hands.
If Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II is not called to order then he needs to forfeit his position as Board Member og GNPC else the concern youths are preparing for a peaceful demonstration for Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II removal.
