The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known widely as Charman Wontumi has accused former President John Mahama and party Chair, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo as the brains behind the killing of two police officers near Liberia Camp in Kasoa last Wednesday.

According to the “loyal” member of NPP, because of the reckless talk, reckless decisions of the Chairman for the National Democratic Congress and his evil plots in the nation, Ghanaians are inspired to kill police officers whenever they wish.

He said that “bad boys” now feel they can kill any police person they exchange words with because “losers” John Mahama, Ofosu Ampofo and the NDC have made it seem like it is not unlawful.

“Because of the reckless talk, reckless decisions, reckless comments has influenced and motivated Ghanaians to kill police officers. Ghana must rise to arrest Ofosu Ampofo, Ghana police must rise to arrest him to stop all these things. NPP and NDC were once family but because John Mahama too has been President before and can never win an election again he has urged his people to kill police officers. Are we at war? Are we in America?”, he quizzed.

Adding;

“Why must we kill ourselves because of John Mahama and Ofosu Ampofo when we are in our country? The police must give me a 24-hour contract to arrest Ofosu Ampofo. He said this on AshFM’s Boiling Point show in Kumasi.

Chairman Wontumi’s is not happy with the recent happenings with the Ghana police service particularly because he believes an audio in which the NDC Chair was alleged to have incensed violence against some personalities could have triggered the bad side of some others.

It would be recalled that a leaked audio purported to be the voice of the NDC’s National Chairman, caused shock waves among the public after it went viral earlier this year.

The leaked tape which is believed to be from a meeting held at the NDC’s headquarters days after the infamous Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, captures leading members of the opposition party allegedly planning strategies the NDC will use to regain power in 2020.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, who could be heard speaking to some party members without equivocation, noted the NDC will target lives of NPP members in 2020 since state security cannot protect them.

According to him, another delicate aspect to win the 2020 election is targeting the EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa.
But after being arrested by the police, the NDC Chaiman was granted bail over kidnapping allegations leveled against him.

Chairman Wontumi believes Ofosu Ampofo’s “thoughtless” talks may somehow have incensed people’s violent side and led to the killing two officers of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Service, Sergeant Michael Dzamesi and Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal while on operational duties.
The two were said to have signaled occupants of an unregistered Toyota Camry to stop at the Kasoa checkpoint.

But after the driver, Eric Kojo Duah who was arrested yesterday mounted a chase which landed their killing at Aplaku.

Eric Kojo Dua, who has been declared wanted by the police was on his way to the Volta region en route Akosombo in the Eastern region when he was nabbed.
