Fuel Siphoning Tragedy: Inferno on Accra-Kumasi Highway Claims Lives*

Tragedy struck on the Accra-Kumasi Highway near Nsawam earlier today, Saturday, when a fuel tanker broke down and sparked a deadly inferno.

Residents, motorists, and drivers rushed to syphon fuel, using tools to pierce the tanker, causing fuel to leak and ignite.

The explosion and fire killed at least two people in a taxi and left several others badly burnt, including a woman carrying a baby who was rescued. The tanker driver is hospitalised, fighting for his life.

A VIP bus was also engulfed in flames, but swift action by the driver saved all passengers. Emergency responders are on the scene, and injured victims are receiving treatment at Nsawam Government Hospital.
