A $50,000 nomination fee for the presidential election has been approved by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Congress.
The higher sum marks an increase of nine hundred percent (900%) above the entry price for the 2019 competition.

The GFA’s General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, recently announced the significant hike in the nomination price for Presidential contenders in a statement dated June 24.
Comparing the projected fee of GHC50,000 to the GHC5,000 levied during the previous elections in 2019, there has been a notable increase of 900%.
The GFA cites the increased costs of organizing the elections, such as logistics, transportation, and lodging, as justification for the requirement for the fee increase.
Kurt Okraku, the president of the GFA, has also declared his desire to run for office again.
