The Traditional Ruler of the Oblieman Area within the Ga West Municipality, Nij Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I has for the second time within the month of November being honoured for his immense contribution towards education.
The first honour was from the Ga North Educational Directorate for his diverse support and contribution towards Educational development. The Emissary of Education for the Montessori Module of United Nations-West Africa has since the launch of the organisation attended to the needs of the Educational Directorate of the Ga North Municipal Assembly hence his recognition and honour.
On Friday November 22, 2024, the Ga West Educational Directorate recognised the Overlord of Oblieman for his direct involvement and support towards both learners and Teachers growth and development. He was honored with a few individuals who have been outstanding towards the vision and mission of the Ga West Assembly.
His support towards the construction of a large Assembly Hall for the Municipal Assembly’s Educational Directorate, his introduction of a scholarship and international recognition training for teachers within the Municipality and also the sponsorship of a reading and spelling competitions for learners within the Ga West Municipality were not left out while considering his honour.
The honouring ceremony was done during the Afrifa Mensah Teachers Awards ceremony. The awards ceremony also saw Teachers within the various levels of Education within the Municipality being recognised and awarded for their selfless dedication and contribution to learners growth and support.
In a speech the Emissary of Education, Nii Ayitey Anumle Oyanka I expressed appreciation for the recognition, stating that sometimes it pays to do services out of your heart for no one knows who is observing from afar. He encouraged the teachers to keep doing what they know how to do best and make impacts in the lives of their learners.
He also took the opportunity to celebrate the good works the Director of Education in the Municipality, touting him as a technocrat who believes in innovation and dedication towards greatness. He promised to sponsor a category of the awards ceremony with an all expenses paid trip to the winner of that category.
