Following the passing of a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member in a car accident, former president John Dramani Mahama declared that he would be suspending his campaign in the Assin North Constituency.
After an NDC member was killed in a car accident, Mahama halted his campaign in Assin North.
According to Mahama, he is pausing his campaign for a few hours to see the family of the deceased person and the injured accident victims.
“I had to take a break from my campaign in Assin North for around two hours to meet supporters who were hurt in an accident following our engagement at Dansame.
“Unfortunately, we lost a friend who eagerly encouraged others to join the program. We send our sympathies to her family, the former president wrote in a tweet on June 17, 2016.
Earlier, a crash involving a vehicle carrying journalists on June 17, 2023, was said to have left at least one person dead.
According to GHOne TV, the pickup truck that was involved in the accident was traveling to the Assin North Constituency to cover former president John Dramani Mahama’s campaign there.
