Following the passing of a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member in a car accident, former president John Dramani Mahama declared that he would be suspending his campaign in the Assin North Constituency.
According to Mahama, he is pausing his campaign for a few hours to see the family of the deceased person and the injured accident victims.
“I had to take a break from my campaign in Assin North for around two hours to meet supporters who were hurt in an accident following our engagement at Dansame.
“Unfortunately, we lost a friend who eagerly encouraged others to join the program. We send our sympathies to her family, the former president wrote in a tweet on June 17, 2016.
Earlier, a crash involving a vehicle carrying journalists on June 17, 2023, was said to have left at least one person dead.
