Celebrities joining political party campaigns and endorsing presidential candidates isn’t new in Ghana but veteran musician, Big Joe Frazier, doesn’t support this idea.
According to him, celebrities should remain neutral in the lead-up to elections and shouldn’t be seen taking sides as being witnessed currently in the country.
He remarked “When you are an artiste or a public figure you have to be neutral that’s why even during elections we cast our ballot in a secret box so no one will know who we voted for.
“For an artiste or public figure to be standing on a political platform to campaign for one particular party is what I don’t think I’ll support,” he told Amansan Krakye.
“Creating music for one political party I don’t think being an artiste is the best for you to do that but some people do it and that’s why we have individual differences.
“As for me, I think that when you are a public figure you need to be neutral and serve the interest of your fans on both sides but to stand on a campaign platform is not the best,” Big Joe Frazier stressed.
