CEO for NaBCo has formally declared his interest to contest the Tamale Central Constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party ahead of the election 2020.
Dr. Barhama Ibrahim Imoro Anyars, contested the same seat at the last general election in 2016 and lost controversially to current-but-soon-to-step-aside MP, Inusah Fuseini of the National Democratic congress.
Dr. Anyars who has since been serving as Chief Executive Officer of government graduate unemployment intervention, the Nation Builders Corps, says his decision to contest again is motivated by the fact that he has an unfinish agenda to accomplish with the people of Tamale Central.
“As regard my interest in the limited registration exercise, everyone here knows I have unfinish business at Tamale Central. We want to complete that business and the time starts from now till 2020,” Doctor Anyars told journalists at the weekend when queried as regard his interest for visiting some designated centers of Electoral Commission’s limited voter registration exercise in tamale.
Dr Barhama upon his visit described the limited registration exercise as orderly but appealed to the EC to address various concerns as raised by key stakeholders to ensure the process is given more credibility.
Dr Barhama Ibrahim Imoro Anyars’s campaign in his first but unsuccessful attempt which saw him polled a little over 25 thousand votes was hinged on development, hope and better future for people of Tamale Central Constituency.
His latest effort at the seat will not be a walk pass as he will likely come up against either former Tamale Mayor, Hanan Gundadoo, or Former minister of state, Hon. Murtala Mohammed, who so far are the personalities to have openly declared their interest in the contest for the NDC.
The man who served as technical advisor to Vice President
Mahamud Bawumia before his appointment at NaBCo will get his wish to recontest if he successfully brave his party’s constituency primaries which is slated for September, 2019
