Okraku’s affirmation opens the door for a tight contest because former vice presidents of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie and Kojo Yankah have also stated their intention to run.
Despite losing to Okraku in the 2019 elections, Afriyie is regarded as a serious contender with the ability to overthrow Okraku’s rule.
New executives, including the hotly disputed president, will be chosen during the GFA elections, which are set for October.
Okraku emphasized his commitment to continuing his leadership path in Ghana football during his statement at the Congress.
