During the 29th GFA Ordinary Congress, Okraku made the proclamation. The audience responded favorably, giving him a standing ovation and cries of “Long Live Kurt.”

Okraku’s affirmation opens the door for a tight contest because former vice presidents of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie and Kojo Yankah have also stated their intention to run.

Despite losing to Okraku in the 2019 elections, Afriyie is regarded as a serious contender with the ability to overthrow Okraku’s rule.

New executives, including the hotly disputed president, will be chosen during the GFA elections, which are set for October.

Okraku emphasized his commitment to continuing his leadership path in Ghana football during his statement at the Congress.
