The DCE for HLDD , Hon. Kennedy Yaw Sarpong, pays unannounced visit to selected schools and offices..

The DCE, HLDD, Hon. Kennedy Yaw Sarpong, today , Monday 24th June 2019, paid unannounced visit to selected schools and offices within the district as part of his familiarization tour .

The DCE and his entourage first visited Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School, where he held a closed doors meeting with the headmaster and management of the the school.

Prominent among issues discussed included infrastructural challenges bedeviling the school, lack of school cars, slow pace of work in an ongoing pavilion under the auspices of the member of Parliament,  Hon. Bright Wireko Brobby and Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations. The DCE expressed shock on the lack of vehicles for the school , rickety structure posing as dinning and inadequate space for the boys. He assured the headmaster and management of collaborating with the mp immediately to have most of the issues touched on addressed.

He also inspected ongoing projects in the school and promised to charge the contractor complete the work as scheduled. Hon. Sarpong was also thankful to the teachers for their selflessness and dedication to duty amidst challenges.The Headmaster, Mr. Godfrey Arhin couldn’t hide his excitement about the visit and thanked the DCE for the sense of altruism shown within his few days in office.

It would be recalled that on Thursday, 13th June, 2019, the headmaster and a team of staff members paid a courtesy call on the DCE on his assumption of office. The visit was aimed at congratulating the DCE on his confirmation and also to discuss challenges facing the school. Though new in office the headmaster and his team were overwhelmed at how vexed the DCE was on challenges of the school .

He promised to work assiduously in ensuring that the school moves ahead. The DCE also promised to fast track the ongoing pavilion under construction. It was in response to the visit that the DCE, Hon. Kennedy Sarpong to visit the school in order to acclimatize himself the challenges of the school.

The DCE and his team visited the Hemang Health Directorate where he interacted with the officers there. He requested a meeting with the Ag. Health Director on a later date to be abreast with issues of the directorate .
Next to benefit from the visit was the Education Directorate. Here he was heavily welcomed by most of the workers there whom, before his elevation into the high office used to be comrades in the noble profession.

Offices visited by the DCE included the IPPD department, HRMD, Budgeting and Finance department. He interacted with the staff and encouraged them to work harder since it is by our individual efforts that we can all struggle for our heads. He also inspected the GES office which riffed off by torrential rains in march , 2019,Despite assurances from the district assembly in fixing the roof, it was yet to sea that foetus of dream yet to be born. On his part, Hon. Sarpong assured the directorate of a positive sign soon.

What was unique about the tour was the expression of optimism by all in all the institutions he visited. He was greeted and received wholeheartedly despite political differences. Wrapping up the tour, the DCE assured all workers of his quick intervention to help improve the working conditions in the various offices. He later ended his tour to engage in other equally important assignments of the day.


Among the entourage were the 1st vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party, HLDC and District Zoom lion Coordinator, Mr. Yahya Issah,Hon Nana Kwaku Abban and Deputy Organiser, Mr. Michael Asomani , Special Assistant to the DCE and the Hon. Napoleon Owusu Asante, Assembly Member of Hemang East.
