TESCON KNUST CONDEMNS FRIDAY’S BRUTALITY

TESCON KNUST CONDEMNS FRIDAY’S BRUTALITY

DATE: 08/09/18

KNUST Security men are meant to protect the student’s and not to assault them.

Unfortunately, the security of KNUST seems to have a different swipe. A video has gone viral after Friday’s intended procession and has left many wounded and others embittered. Security personnels were captured in a video brutalizing some students supposedly involved in a procession.

TESCON KNUST condemns in no uncertain terms, the harsh acts meted out to our fellow students. We state unequivocally that it’s an act that shouldn’t be tolerated on any normal day. These security personnel’s have no right to batter any student on campus.

Even if the students defaulted, such an order couldn’t have come from the school authorities, could it ?

These security personnel’s are on campus not to protect a silent minority but to protect the interest of the entire student populace and not harass them.

We wholeheartedly wish the victims involved speedy recovery and hereby wish them well.

We therefore plead with the University Council, Vice Chancellor, Dean of Students and Head of KNUST Security to call their men to order for utmost peace and harmony to prevail on campus KNUST.
