Ghanaian dancehall powerhouse Stonebwoy has boldly stated that it would be unfair to compare him to Shatta Wale lyrically, saying, “The difference is clear.”

In an interview with Headless YouTuber, the host humorously outlined a fictitious situation in which Dr. Osei Kwame and businessman Ibrahim Mahama contemplate holding a charity boxing match between the long-time musical rivals in order to generate money for a worthy cause.

Stonebwoy, however, quickly put an end to the notion. He repeated the question rhetorically to highlight his incredulity, “Am I a boxer?” “Am I a boxer?” Stonebwoy asked again after the interviewer explained that it was for charity.

He continued by stating that it would not be a fair match and that even a lyrical face-off would be useless. “You know, it is not compatible even if you want to take that conversation to a lyrical battle because it would be like I am cheating somebody,” he stated. “Because the distinction is obvious.” You know, let everyone do what they want to do. We will meet at the summit.

Regarding his long-standing conflicts with Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy clarified that nobody in the business intentionally singles out or disparages the SM boss. The “Therapy” hitmaker claims that musicians in Ghana’s entertainment industry do not wake up intending to take aim at Shatta Wale.

He clarified that the “Ayoo” crooner is the one who frequently starts arguments by venting, criticising, and picking fights with coworkers—even those who have treated him with the utmost respect—online. “No artist will simply get up in the morning, grab his camera, and go live to disparage or assault Shatta Wale.” However, he does that more than once or twice. “He criticises practically everyone in the industry,” Stonebwoy said.

He continued by saying that Shatta Wale’s frequent outbursts have made him his own worst enemy because they drive people away rather than foster unity. “Shatta Wale is an adversary of himself.” He never stops complaining about problems and unnecessarily criticising others. People react the way they do for this reason. “It is a reaction, not an attack,” Stonebwoy emphasised. The dancehall performer emphasised that ongoing feuds only impede the development of the music industry and called for maturity, respect, and cooperation among Ghanaian artists in closing.
