NPP PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES-AFIGYA SEKYERE EAST HAS BEEN GIVEN A RAW DEAL -SEKYERE YOUTH EXPRESS ANGER

CRABS IN A BARREL BUT CRABS DONT BELONG IN A BARREL,SO WHEN THEY WANT TO COME OUT OF THE BARREL,THEY WILL HAVE TO STAY ATTACHED AND STEP ON EACH OTHER’S BACK,ONCE THE FIRST ONE GETS OUT OF THE BARREL,THE OTHERS GET TO BE PULLED ALONG BECAUSE THEY STAYED ATTACHED ” ~ Shawn Carter

The N.P.P showed they were a united front prior to 2016 general elections.Their unity made them more fearful than ever,so their victory wasn’t much a surprise to many a Ghanaian.

However, upon ascending the political throne of Ghana,a lot seem to have changed if we will be realistic to ourselves; sustenance of power is of not much importance to the leadership of the party. Greed, selfishness, various acts of machismo is displayed at every level of party structure and not forgetting the rise of lack of patriotism has engulfed the minds of a section of our party leaders.

The first time in history that, NPP has recorded a high number of disqualified Parliamentary aspirants during vetting.
Is everything okay with our “heartbeat” NPP ?
Are we trying to tell Ghanaians that our party is no longer attractive to competent people and that only the opposite picked forms to contest ? Did we truly adhere to the party constitution in disqualifying a good number of aspirants who also have in various ways contributed to bring the NPP where it is now ? Is the NPP undemocratic to this extent ? May all who are behind such scheme bury their heads in dung as our forebears are mourning in their graves. ( Rest in Peace to all departed Members of the Dancquah-Busia-Dombo tradition)

Apparently, none of these leaders orchestrating this evil/undemocratic act was appointed! They all went to polls so why are they doing this now ? Do they have the interest of the party at heart ?

A constituency that is a victim of such undemocratic act is AFIGYA SEKYERE EAST in the Ashanti region, where the incumbent is nothing but a ceremonial MP and her father… the ” working MP” .

Voice of rank and file of the NPP in Afigya Sekyere East is lost as all directives are from the father of Mavis Nkansah Boadu, the MP. Nothing is done without the approval of “father of our MP”. When party members call on their MP,she directs them to her father and this has rendered a lot of party elders silent as they see such gestures as wrong and untoward.

Barima Sarpong,a native of Dawu, a town in the constituency, who was called on by some members of the party in the constituency to come and contest to win the seat from the incumbent so party structures in the constituency could work again, has been forced to withdraw is nomination by the vetting committee and Bernard Antwi Boasiako and Sam Payne (Regional Chairman and Secretary Respectively).

When the National Headquaters released nomination forms for parliamentary primaries, Barima Sarpong tried all means to get a copy of the form but was denied even after showing proof of Banker’s draft which was a directive by the national committee to all aspiring persons. To the extent of the D.C.E of the area, Mrs Catherine Reckling, who is the representative of the President,Nana Akuffo Addo, who needs a united NPP to win 2020 elections but this woman attacked Barima Sarpong on Peace FM.

On Sunday, 9th March,2020, which was the vetting day in Kumasi, when Barima Sarpong had satisfactory answered all questions thrown to him by the vetting panel, General Secretary,John Boadu plainly told the world and the media in the presence of Chairman Wontumi and Sam Payne that the regional Executives have arrived at a consensus not to allow anyone contest Mavis Nkansah Boadu and that he the General Secretary and National Chairman fully endorse their decision so he should wait until next time, then he can contest. But wait! Are we in some kind of jungle ? Is Mavis immuned to primaries ? We all know the answer is a BIG NO as she contested Hon Henrich David Yeboah of Blessed Memory who died mysteriously (May the soul of the departed keep resting in Perfect peace).

Where did we go wrong as a constituency? Hasnt Mavis, the incumbent worked enough to be afraid of contest? Is the party leadership speaking the will of the party members in Afigya Sekyere East?

Yes, John Boadu has spoken! Barima Sarpong cannot challenge the whole General Secretary of NPP but we, the party supporters in the constituency are much disappointed and broken hearted by the wicked decision taken by our leaders, not considering the interest of the party at heart.

We will fold our arms for them to come and campaign for the party. We promise!

Our party’s euphoria and charisma has been dwindling since the incumbent started to prove that she is only acting in her father’s stead.

We wish to tell our greedy and selfish party leaders that “3ny3 da aa wo b3to 3bo) atwa asuo firaw no,na mpafee b3 si wo” to wit, whatsoever a man sows,so shall he reap”
