My attention has been drawn to media reports on ghanasoccernet claiming among other things that:
1.Some Ghanaian journalists have been left stranded because plans to airlift them to Egypt has backfired
2. $ 2.5m dollars has been budgeted to cater for 55 journalists
3. An amount of $15m has been earmarked for the 2019 AFCON
First of all, isn’t it ironic that ghanasoccernet now seem to be fighting for journalists it claims are praise-singers, daft and are ready to sell their conscience in exchange for a trip to Egypt?
And since when did it become the responsibility of the Sports Ministry to airlift journalists employed by private media houses to cover tournaments?
Have been keenly following ghanasocccernet and their deliberate attempt to smear this government and the affable sports Minister. Before coach Kwasi Appiah named his squad for the AFCON, same agenda setting and garbage spewing ghanasoccernet claimed NC had sent a budget of $7.2m to government for the 2019 AFCON.
Weeks later, same portal whose ownership keep changing hands, reported that the AFCON budget was $8m. Now the budget for the AFCON has metamorphosed from $7.2m to $8m and now $15m…… WHICH OF YOUR FIGURES IS AUTHENTIC? Stop confusing us please.
Now let’s do common sense analyses on the claim that the ministry is spending $2.5m on 55 media personnel. The simple analogy here is that each journalists would pocket $45,000 for no work done. Why on earth would anybody throw this gargantuan LIES in public space…..What is our crime? Are you implying Ghanaians can’t reason as a people or those journalists working at ghanasoccernet are wiser than very Ghanaian citizen?
Your attempt to disgrace the NPP government and the Minister has failed and the earlier you realized it the better for you.
Hon Asiamah by deeds is our best Sports Minister. Look at his initiative to build 10-Sports complexes across the nation, refurbishment of the Accra Sports Stadium, just to mention a few, his composure and calmness. WISE UP ghanasoccenet.
