E/R NDC HOLDS THANKSGIVING IN ASUOGYAMAN CONSTITUENCY OVER PEACEFUL INTERNAL ELECTIONS.
Eastern Regional Secretariat of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday June 4,2023 held thanksgiving service at Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in New Akrade ,Asuogyaman constituency, for successful internal elections.
The Regional chairman Dr.Mark Oliver Kevor and other regional executives were joined by some NDC Members of Parliament such as Thomas Ampem Nyarko, Asuogyaman, Sam George ,Ningo Prampram, Isaac Adongo Bolegatanga Central, Abla Dzifa Gomashie ,MP for Ketu South ,Bismark Tetteh Nyarko,Upper Manya Krobo, Albert Tetteh Nyarkotey, Yilo Krobo MP , various constituency executives and their parliamentary candidates and members and supporters of the party.
Also present were some chiefs from the Asuogyaman and its environs.
The NDC has in the last few months elected branch, constituency, Regional ,National executives elections and climaxed with Parliamentary and Presidential Primaries
According to Dr Mark Oliver Kevor the Lord has been good to the party having held all these elections peacefully deepening the unity in the party hence the Thanksgiving.
He said the NDC is confident of winning power in 2024 to remediate economic mess created by the Akuffo -Addo /Bawumia led government.
Justice Kwame Asumeng, District Minister in charge Ascension Congregation Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Koforidua, who delivered sermon said the focus of every leader be it politician or traditional rulers must be an aggressive fight to defeat poverty ,diseases and curb road carnages which are killing Ghanaians.
He said poverty is the Goliath of Africa destroying families ,marriages and future of the youth therefore needs to be eradicated.
Rev.Justice Asumeng charged the NDC to correct its mistakes and be well prepared like David who came out of the wilderness fully prepared to rule ,so that when the grace of leadership falls on the NDC ,it will govern Ghana better to improve the living standards of Ghanains.
Speaking on behalf of the Minority caucus ,MP for Ningo Prampram Sam Nartey George thanked the Reverend Minister for the wise counsel.
He assured that the Minority MPs will ensure only transactions and policies beneficial to Ghanains are passed in parliament that minority will keep the government to probity and accountability.
