Press Release
Mr. President,Youth in Afforestation/Forestry Commision are Ghanains like NABCO beneficials
It is with sad heart that we wish to draw the attention of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E Nana Addo and the general public to an unfair distribution of the national cake.
We the members of the Forestry Commision/Youth in Afforestation are very sad on issues relating to our monthly allowances. We are graduates from recognised universities in Ghana who have Degrees and Diploma certificates who can equally work as personnel of NABCO but we took the passion to support the government’s agenda of making Ghana Green and protecting our environment through planting trees.
Since we started work,we have never been treated fairly and we go into the forest with our lives exposed to predators such as snakes, scorpions but we come home with our arrears hanging on their ‘tree of arrears’.Government is not willing to pay our monthly allowances on time.We want to ask the President,Minister of Finance,Minister for Employment and CEO of Forestry Commission,Is it because we hold the title Youths in Afforestation that’s why leadership want to maltreat us?
Our allowances is over four months but government has been put under pressure to clear one month arrears of NABCO beneficiaries.
Must we always demonstrate before we are paid?
We wish to draw the President’s attention to this unfair treatment given us and his appointees only pay our allowances anytime there is a demonstration.
In conclusion,we wish to let leadership and the President know that we are Ghanaians.
Thanks.
Signed
