Actor and radio presenter Mikki Osei Berko has disclosed that he has started a coaching course with the hope of coaching the country’s senior team, the Black Stars.
The renowned actor, best known for playing Master Richard in Taxi Driver, says he is currently a level two football coach and is working towards becoming a professional coach.
Born 1973, the actor revealed in an interview with Doreen Andoh on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM that he was away in Ghana to pursue a number of courses including the coaching.
“I studied film…my first degree was with the New York Film Academy, I did television production, and I went out there and I got the opportunity to continue, I did directing. I also did football coaching and took care of my family,” he revealed.
Master Richard, who said he played football growing up and currently owns a football team in Kasoa, revealed further that, “I’m a level two football coach, midway the coaching ladder…”
Asked he if plans to use the license anytime soon, he said, “for now, I am focusing on my production bit because that is what I came out to do but for coaching, I want to get the pro license. I have given myself probably the next two or three years to acquire the pro license and then maybe start looking out to coach the Black Stars.”
