As one of numerous Guinness World Records attempts sweeping the African nation, Tembu Ebere suffered some vision loss while attempting to weep continually for an entire week.

According to BBC reports, the man started having excruciating headaches, puffy eyes, and a bloated face from the continual crying before briefly losing his vision for 45 minutes.

I have to change my approach and stop crying, he added.

Even though he hasn’t submitted an application to Guinness World Records, he was determined to finish his tear-jerker even knowing it won’t be recognized.

Since May, when a 26-year-old chef named Hilda Baci was recorded as having cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes at a Lagos restaurant, he was one of many Nigerians attempting to break global records.
