The Youth Secretary for United Kingdom branch of the New Patriotic Party has appealed to his party’s National Executives to make nomination forms for their internal elections online.
Thomas Oheneba Boakye says extending the sales of forms online would prevent the numerous accusations of deliberate hoarding of the forms in order to prevent some aspirants from accessing it.
He said, the accusations and counter accusations of such acts in the past has deepened the cracks in the party, “and we don’t need this at a time we are talking of breaking the 8.”
“In these times of breaking the eight, we must all contribute our quota in uniting the party because I don’t see how we can really break the eight with a disunited party,” he noted.
Mr. Boakye who made the appeal in a telephone conversation with ModernGhana said it is high time the NPP puts things aright to enhance their 2024 victory.
The UK NPP Youth Secretary also noted that in the era of technological advancement, it would be very shameful and ridiculous for people to be lamenting in the media over their inability to get forms to buy from their various constituency executives.
He however conceded that there may be some areas where internet connectivity might be problematic, and said for those areas the forms could be made available “through executives but under strict conditions of fairness.”
The New Patriotic Party has lined up various elections in the party between this year and 2023.
These include the election of polling station executives, constituency and national executives, and the Flag bearer.
