KuYA Cleans Kumasi On Saturday

A vibrant youth group in the Ashanti Regional capital called Kumasi Yobuth Association(KuYA) is set to clean Kumasi to make the city clean as the King Solomon of Our Time His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II celebrate’s his 20th anniversary as he was enstooled as King Of Asanteman.

Speaking with the General Secretary of the group Mr Kwabena Frimpong said ” we need to make Kumasi great again, our accolade as the Garden City of West Africa needs to be back. From henceforth, we won’t wait for an anniversary before organising such clean ups exercise. I think such clean up exercise should be organized quarterly, we are calling on cooperate bodies and individuals to support such wealthy course for the betterment of Kumasi and Asante. I will cease this opportunity to invite all the Youth In Kumasi to come Regional House Of Chiefs Opposite Manhyia Palace at 6am on this Saturday 13th April,2019 as our converging point. Long live the king”

“We aren’t doing this clean up exercise alone but with Asante Students Union, Asokwa Youth Association,Ashanti NABCO, Kejetia Petty Traders Association, Asante Youth Association and Kumasi Parliament ” he added

KuYA is noted for their immense contributions to Kumasi and Asante as last year they donated 10,000 exercise books to Otumfuo Charity foundation and 5,000 to Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to be distributed to schools in the Asante and Kumasi metropolis which would enhance the standard of education in the region.

Just last week, KuYA donated 50 boxes of mineral water towards the 20th anniversary celebration of Otumfuo and would be holding a clean up exercise this Saturday.

Also, Information available to us indicates that they would be holding a float on 20th of this month to commemorate the anniversary.
