Ghanaian filmmaker, owner of Kofas Media and director of popular comedy
film John & John could be in fresh trouble as Tim Greene, a South
African actor and film director credited with screenplay for SKEEM has
expressed his disappointment over the former’s decision to remake the
movie without the consent of the producers of the movie.

- Best wishes to all Muslims around the worldMay 7, 2019
Pinning scenes from both movies together, the Cape Town born writer in a
short post on Facebook described John & John as a “word-for-word
rip off.”
“THIS IS INSANE! Turns out Ghana’s biggest movie this year is a word-for-word rip-off of our movie SKEEM!”
As monitored by Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment
News – www.nydjlive.com, Tim in a response to a comment that sought to
find out if he was paid for his role as a scriptwriter for the movie,
stated that a remake fee should have been paid to the producers but that
did not happen.
He also made a shocking revelation that contrary to Kofi Asamoah’s
assertion that he made contact with the owners of the movie, nothing of
that sort materialized.
It must however be stated that Kofi Asamoah did credit Tim Greene for
screenplay when the movie showed at various cinemas and venues around
the country when it was released.
Some movie fans were overly disappointed to find out that the movie’s
story bears a striking resemblance to the storyline of the 2011 South
African film directed by Timothy Greene.
They accused Kofas Media and Miracle Wave International, producers of
Easter premiered movie, ‘John & John’ of ‘copying and lifting’ the
plot from a South African film titled ‘Skeem’.
The question now remains, Did Kofi Asamoah lie to Ghanaians or Tim
Greene is not in the known as to any discussions between the director of
John & John and the producers of SKEEM?
