GHANA PARTICIPATES IN A THREE DAY UNITED NATION DISASTER RISK REDUCTION WORKSHOP IN KENYA-NAIROBI0

A two-man delegation represents Ghana in a 3-day workshop of the United Nation Disaster Risk Reduction workshop currently ongoing in Kenya-Nairobi.

The delegation from Ghana made up of Mr. Abrokwa Koranteng and Mr. Bill Boampong Darlington joins other participating countries like Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Eswatini (Kingdom of), Cote d’Ivoire, Namibia, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Tanzania (United Republic of) and Zamibia to discuss issues relating to multi country risk profiling. Other participating partners are IGAD, SADC, ECCAS, ECOWAS and AUC.

The workshop aims at;

  1. Exchanging knowledge and ideas on the use of risk information in strategic planning and for risk informed investment.
  2. Examining the value of distinct tools in informing strategy and planning and
  3. Considering the value of creating working groups in support of the promotion of the application of risk knowledge in national planning process.

The multi-country risk profiling workshop is a program organized by the United Nation Disaster Risk Reduction and funded by the European Union. The delegation of Ghana is expected as part of activities at the workshop to visit and interact with other high profile personalities on matters of modern risk management technology and other important subject matters that shall seek to serve the interests of Ghana.
