Seven more suspects arrested Thursday over Captain Mahama’s death – The first six suspects have been arraigned before court and are on remand – The men of the Ghana Armed Forces are also threatening to strike if they do not get a speedy and fair trial for their dead colleague The latest development coming from the death of Army Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama indicates that some seven more suspects linked to the atrocity have been arrested by the police. Aware the men were running from the Central Region to the Western and Brong Ahafo regions.
Police say five of them were picked up at Asankragwa in the Western Region whilst the remaining two were picked up at Techiman in Brong Ahafo.The suspects were been sent to Central Regional Police Headquarters for interrogation. Meanwhile, emotions are high among soldiers at Burma Camp in Accra. The soldiers threatened retribution at a durbar in Accra Thursday when the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Obed Akwa engaged them. “We are the last resort in this country. If we allow ourselves to be beaten this way… as a Christian, by what Jesus said in Matthew 26 verse 52: he who draws the sword must die by the sword,” an angry soldier told the CDS at the military durbar.
The soldiers also expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the police investigations. In other news, deputy minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is advocating for the live telecast of the trial and sentencing of the murderers of the soldier. 
According to the MP for Ofoase Ayirebi this will send a message to Ghanaians that such barbaric acts will not be tolerated by the state.My personal desire is that the trial and sentencing of the persons responsible is carried live on national television so that the many people who have seen this act, will also see some punishment being exacted,” he opined. The late Captain Mahama was gruesomely killed whilst jogging on Monday morning at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region where he was stationed as leader of a military detachment.
