PRESS STATEMENT BY THE ALLIANCE OF DRIVERS GHANA, FORMERLY DRIVERS FOR CHANGE.
HOW CAN A DRIVER BENEFIT FROM THIRD PARTY INSURANCE?
Our outfit has come to a deep realisation that drivers barely benefit in this country and mostly are the ones that suffer when there are any volatilities in prices of crude and petroleum products.
We pay huge amounts on third-party insurance and we ask ourselves how can a driver benefit from this as well. Of course the government can do something about it.
However, there can be prudent measures that can be practically lined up to help drivers gain good financial standing as far as insurance is concerned and that’s what we’ve outlined below.
â›”first of all, we are pleading with the government to have a discussion with the NIC(National insurance commission) to consider a motivation for drivers who insures for 5years and above.
â›” we are also suggesting that, if possible drivers who does an insurance cover with a particular insurance company for long should be given at least a sum assured or a mention pay.
⛔And lastly, we are all aware of the high cost of insurance cover which was instituted by the erstwhile mahama administration. That is a whopping 500% (i.e. from ¢60 to ¢380? ) increment. We are humbly pleading with you to reconsider price for us as it is becoming unbearable.
Long live the Alliance of Drivers Ghana!
Long live our Motherland!
