Asante Kotoko trainer CK Akonnor is highly optimistic striker Songne Yacouba will start scoring soon despite misfiring in most games.
The Burkinabe is yet to find the back of the net in their Confederation Cup campaign and after missing uncountable chances in the clash against ZESCO in Wednesday, Akonnor is sure his forward will soon score.
The former AshGold manager says he feels bad for the player’s inability to score despite all the effort but remains positive about the player.
Speaking to the media after the game, Akonnor revealed he sometimes feels sad for the lack of goals for his striker but also lauded him for his all round performance.
“The boy is doing very well. He’s been working very hard. Just that his finishing hasn’t been good. I feel sad for him sometimes”
“As I said it’s just a matter of time before he start scoring. I really like how he is helping the team,” he added.
