Sergio Ramos announces on a press conference that he has decided to commit his future to Real Madrid until retirement despite China transfer links.
‘I am a Madridista. I want to retire here’, says Ramos.
“I have never had an issue with the president (Florentino Perez). Our relationship is like a father and son.”
“We have not talked about the economic issue. For me the relationship with a club is always about trust and an affection.”
“It is true that I have an offer from China on the table, I will not lie about it.”
“The wage does not matter to me. I would play for Real Madrid for free.”
“I repeat, the economic issue does not matter. If the club pays more to players, it because they are super cracks who will improve the team.”
The Spain captain has scored 84 goals for Madrid in 606 appearances across 14 years following a move from Sevilla and has won 163 caps for his nation.
Ramos has won 20 trophies at the club, including three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
