He also reviled what he calls language of division, which he said would work against the development of the country.
“We have a responsibility to keep our country together; to get away from the language of tribal allegiances, tribal incitement; somebody is a northerner, somebody is a southerner would not bring development to this country,” he said in Kumasi on Wednesday during a short press conference.
“We are all Ghanaians, no matter which part of the country you come from and that should be the link that holds us together,” he noted.
“The language of division, ethnic, regional is politics of yesterday and it is the politics that have been the bane of the continent and our country.”
Nana Akufo-Addo reminded Ghanaians that the unity of the nation is “absolutely key” for the future of Ghana.
“Let’s all understand that we are Ghanaians irrespective of where you come from,” he said.
