AFCON2019 AFCON: Black Stars Assistant Trainer Ibrahim Tanko Hints At Stunning Inclusion In AFCO
Assistant manager of the Black Star Ibrahim Tanko has hinted as stunning inclusion in the yet to be released official roaster ahead of the 2019 AFCON slated for Egypt.
The Black Stars technical team is expected to name an initial 30 man squad for preparations ahead of the continental and has now hinted at some surprise inclusion in the squad as the search for the first trophy since 1982 takes shape.
Pundits and followers of the game are calling for the inclusion of some wild cards in the team with some local players flourishing in the ongoing NC Special competition.
Ibrahim Tanko, speaking to the Press at the SWAG Awards night, hinted that names on the yet to be released squad will surprise many but that it is part of football.
“We (Ghanaians) should expect a team that will help us to achieve our goal, and yes there will be a few surprises in the team which is normal. We should also expect one or two local players to make the initial 30 man squad for the training tour in Abu Dhabi,” Tanko told pressmen at the event.
