AFCON2019: Black Stars player ratings against Guinea-Bissau

 

Black Stars of Ghana qualified to the round of 16 of the 2019 African Cup of Nations after beating Guinea Bissau by 2-0.

Goals from Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey were enough to see off victory for the Black Stars.

Footballmadeinghana.com rated the performance of the players by (10).
Richard Ofori( 7/10) – Great save to deny piquetta in the first half. Was saved by the woodwork thrice. Another clean sheet for him.

Andy Yiadom( 6/10)- Another decent performance the chap. Great ball awareness. Always at the right place at the right time. Didn’t contribute much on the attack.

Baba Rahman ( 8/10) – Two assist from the budding left back. Didn’t put any foot wrong. Was a constant threat on the attack. Got his crossing on point.

Joseph Aidoo( 6/10)- Ride his luck in the first half after fouling Mendez in the penalty box. Got all his tackles right. Promising debut for the Genk defender.

John Boye(6 /10) – Great game by the returnee. Won almost all the aerial duels. Always assured at the back.

Mubarak Wakaso( 7/10) – Another good outing by the Alaves midfielder. Shielded the defense very well with some good interception. Still has to work on his long balls.

Thomas Partey(7 /10) – Finally came to the party with a good game. Struggled in the first half, got better in the second half. Can still do better with a great performance.

Andre Ayew( 6/10) – Started the move for Ghana’s second goal. Worked tirelessly to see his team got away with the win. Chased every ball

Kwabena Owusu(6 /10) – Had a free header to give Ghana the lead but his header hit the side net. Always dangerous on the attack. Not a bad start for him.

Samuel Owusu(7 /10) – Another majestic performance by the young chap. Skilfull, pacey and dangerous on the attack. Gave the Guinea-Bissau defense a very good run for their money. Gradually paying back the faith instilled in him by the coach.

Jordan Ayew ( 8/10)- Put Ghana ahead with a solo run through to the penalty box. Very confident on the ball. Could have score more than if not his profligacy on the goal. Always a nightmare for defender.
Substitute

Afriyie Acquah (5 /10) – Came in to stabilize the midfield and pushed Partey upfront. Did his job very well without putting a foot wrong in the game.

Caleb Ekuban (4/10)- Came in for Partey. Didn’t make any impact any impact in the game

Kwadwo Asamoah (4 /10) – Brought in late for Samuel Owusu. Didn’t make any impact in the game.
