Ampaw entered a not guilty plea to the allegations of defrauding by false pretenses at the court last week.

Ampaw was detained by Ghana Immigration Service agents at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) while trying to exit the nation, according to the police.

Ampaw was granted bail in the sum of GH¢ 800,000 by the presiding judge, Mr. Isaac Addo, with two sureties who had to demonstrate that they were the owners of landed property.

Ampaw was also told to report to the case investigator every Friday and to turn in his passport to the court registry until further notice. The case will now reopen on March 27, 2024.
