After they’ve vetted ministerial nominees. Osei-Owusu, also known as Joe Wise, shared his experience as Chairman of the Appointments Committee, stating that these payments are intended to facilitate the committee’s work efficiently ¹.

According to Joe Wise, these payments should not be misconstrued as bribery. He strongly disapproves of such claims, emphasising that the payments don’t influence the committee’s decision-making or give any nominee an unfair advantage. “It’s like facilitating our work,” he explained. “I wonder why anybody could link that to bribery. How can it influence peddling? It does not give advantage or disadvantage to anybody.”

Joe Wise’s comments come amid controversy surrounding the Appointments Committee, following bribery allegations made by social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor. However, Barker-Vormawor has since apologized and deleted the post that sparked the controversy
