World Hepatitis B Day: Afenyo Markin Calls For Early Testing; Provision Of More Equipment
“So very soon we gonna celebrate the World Hepatitis B day. Well, it is an infection that affects the liver, we have only one liver and its rather more dangerous than the other viral infections we fear. The mode of transmission are many, and Hepatitis B is not curable” according to Effutu lawmaker Alexander Aenyo Markin.
According to the Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament, “I therefore would encourage each and everyone of us to do early testing, if you are negative you take your vaccination and you are protected.
Speaking ahead of this year’s World Hepatitis B Day observation, the MP revealed that he took his vaccination in 2010 and in 2020 found out that his antibody was low, so he decided to take the vaccine again and later completed the third shot in August 2020.
Hon. Afenyo Markin however, appealed to the ministry of health for make available equipment used for testing the disease at most hospitals to make it easier for people to check their status.
This year’s event will come off on Friday, 28th July, 2023 and would be observed by Mumbies Foundation in collaboration with the Effutu Municipal Assembly as usual.
