We need a Member of Parliament, not just a parliamentary candidate – Charles Asiedu

The parliamentary candidate hopeful for Tano South Constituency in the Ahafo region, Hon. Charles Akwasi Asiedu has expressed that the NDC party in the Tano South constituency needs a Member of Parliament and not a mere parliamentary candidate after the primaries. He emphasized that the party in the Tano South constituency after the primaries needs a candidate who can win them the parliamentary seat since they have stayed in opposition for quite a long period.

He revealed that there came a time when an elected parliamentary candidate disappeared and returned in about some weeks to general elections as a result of his inability to fund his campaign hence the party delegates must give the mandate to Him (Charles Asiedu) because he is poise to defeat the NPP from the parliamentary seat indicating that if the Party is only interested in just a parliamentary candidate, they wouldn’t have conducted the primaries.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with High Radio’s Kwaku Mensah Abrampa, Hon Charles Asiedu reiterated that the party needs a resource person who can monetize the campaign and other activities because elections especially in Tano south is more of finances and so he is the right person with the capital and human resource to be able to mobilize people from the branch level to vote for both in the primaries and the general elections.

Adding to his point, Mr. Charles Akwasi Asiedu pleaded with other contestants to present records base campaigns rather than personal attacks and the use of profane and another inappropriate choice of words in the campaign indicating that the campaign is more about what u have contributed, what you are contributing, and what you will contribute to the party and your constituents when voted into power explaining that he has served the party at the branch, regional and national levels and has been an integral part of all activities of the party being a demonstration or any other engagement by the NDC party.

Mr. Akwasi Asiedu added that he has worked with Honorable Loiusa Hanna Bissiw, the NDC National women organizer, who was a former member of parliament for Tano South constituency as her campaign coordinator and will continue to work with her in her political journey regardless of his position in the party.

He, therefore refuted the claims being leveled against him that he is not a native of Tano South and hence cannot contest the seat explaining that his biological mother hails from Dwomoh, A suburb of Tano South therefore nothing prevents from contesting the seat.
