A video of a stray lion attacking a pedestrian on the streets of Nairobi has gone viral on Social media, raising concerns over the protection of wildlife in the East African country.
The elderly man is feared to have been injured by the huge male lion who was found wandering the streets of Nairobi after it had escaped from a reserve on the edge of the city. The huge beast, as captured by the said video was seen straying into rush hour traffic – a development which shocked motorists as they helplessly watched the lion.
Meanwhile the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) which manages the country’s safari reserves, said its units had caught the lion after images posted on social media showed it wandering along a main road near the park.
