‘Tiger Eye PI crew are terrorists’ – Kwesi Nyantakyi

Banned President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi has broken his silence over circumstances surrounding his involvement in the alleged number 12 scandal bothering on football in Ghana and Africa.

Speaking on NET 2 TV on Thursday which is his first public speech since the issue erupted in June last year, he described Tiger Eye PI as a criminal organization that operates like terrorists group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria commonly referred to as ISIS.

“They don’t have license to do what they are doing… going round, setting up people recording and embarrassing them in public. Tiger Eye PI is a criminal organization that operates like ISIS”, he disclosed on the show dubbed dialogue.

Mr. Nyantakyi also admitted that the group demanded for money in order not to release the footage but when he was not forthcoming they decided to go ahead with the premiering just to embarrass him.

“Yes they demanded for money through lawyer who is also a lecturer at Legon. When the money was not coming they decided to premiere the video dubbed number 12”, he revealed.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas late last year dared those who claimed the former GFA official was trapped to seek legal interpretation in the law courts since that is the only avenue available to them to prove the contrary that he was not trapped.

“Unless anybody claims the tape was doctored and that was never case. They can test the law courts and that is the beauty because my work stands judicial scrutiny and I have been cross-examined by a team of lawyers over what I do”, he disclosed.

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi after exposé has been slapped with lifetime ban from football-related activities by FIFA but Anas said he is not prepared to meet him maintaining his work was not about individuals.

“I have not come face-to-face with Nyantakyi after the release of Number 12. The exposé was not about individuals but systems and institutions…we are about 54 people, 34 referees. I did not individualize the investigations. I have not met him and not looked out for him. I don’t usually do that”, he disclosed during an interview prior to the Media Festival organized by The Press Foundation (TPF)
