Honorable Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, on Friday 20th of July 2018, visted the two major health centers in the Tema West Constituency_ that is, the Tema Polyclinic and Tema General Hospital, in his bid to help afford these facilities the essential medical apparatus needed to save lives and offer the most effective health services to the constituents of Tema West and beyond.
This was in fulfillment of a 2016 campaign promise made to the management and staff of the medical centres and the entire citizenry of the constituency. And he rightfully chose to do this Life-saving Gesture on the very day he recounts to appreciate the life that the Almighty GOD has favored him with.
At the Tema Polyclinic, the Honorable Member of Parliament, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Trade, donated an Incubator and a good number of hospital beds, in a quest to help mitigate the no-bed challenge the country’s hospitals are currently faced with.
Honorable Carlos also donated a large polytank to the hospital, to facilitate the availability of water and the facility round the clock. And in a word or two, he advised the management of the clinic on the need to ensure the safety and good maintenance of these equipment, so that others would look on their usefulness and emulate the Member of Parliament in donating more of as such items to the facility.
The Hon. MP however pledged his lasting support to the health centres in the constituency and his willingness to always assist them in all their needs, to help them offer the best of health care to the people of the area.
Honorable Carlos further promised to facilitate a special visted of the Minister for Health to the clinic, hinting that the President of the Republic, has it as a pressing dream to address all challenges facing medical centres in Ghana.
Madam Josephine Boateng (Senior Administrative Officer of Tema Polyclinic) on behalf of the clinic, expressed their appreciation to the Honorable Member of Parliament, indicating how elated they were at the gesture. She thus promised that the apparatus will be most effectively utilised to save lives in honor of the ‘Life-saving MP’.
They likewise appreciated Honorable Carlos’s effort to fraternise with the staff and management of the clinic.
Mirroring the character of Oliver, however, they requested of the Member of Parliament to honor his word to provide the clinic with a borehole to ensure continuous availability of water at the facility. They also promised to take very good care of the items provided, to encourage others to follow the MP’s gesture.
From the Tema Polyclinic, Honorable Carlos Ahenkorah furthered his course at the Tema General Hospital, donated similar items_ and incubator and a number of brand-new hospital beds, and had similar interactions with the staff and management of the hospital.
The Honorable Member of Parliament promised to work at ensuring that medical centres in the constituency are satisfied with their essential needs.
The Deputy Minister for Health, Madam Tina Mensah, and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, were present at the occasion. The two appreciated the Member of Parliament, and encouraged him to do more for the constituency.
