A greedy python in Australia met a gruesome death
– The snake choked on a whole wallaby it was trying to eat
– A man found both animals decomposing in his backyard
A large python got a bit too greedy and died as a result of trying to gulp down a whole wallaby. This kangaroo-like animal turned out to be too large for the snake, and it was found dead with half his “last supper” protruding from its mouth.
The gruesome finding was made by Australian Russell Boserio, in his backyard in Cairns, Queensland. The 6-meter scrub python most probably choked to death.
These pythons are Australia’s largest reptiles, and wallabies are an occasional part of their diets. They can grow up to more than 8 meters long.
The dead wallaby was believed to be male. It was “still sticking out of its [the python’s] mouth, up to the hip area,” Boserio said.
Both animals had already begun to decompose, due to the Australian summer season, so the man called City Council, who buried them.
