A Ghanaian nursing mother [name withheld] deported to Ghana from Thailand is accusing an elder of the Church of Pentecost at Boadua near Akwatia in the Eastern region for allegedly neglecting her after impregnating her in Thailand.
According to the woman, elder Nelson Amankwa Ampofo proposed to her on phone while in Thailand even though they knew each other in Ghana before travelling abroad.
She told Starrfmonline.com she used to send her naked photos to the Man of God upon his request. Later, she revealed, the elder travelled to Thailand on a business visit and allegedly had sexual intercourse with her which resulted in pregnancy. She narrated that she declined to abort the pregnancy, despite incessant pressure from Elder Ampofo, who insisted it will affect his marriage and church status.
According to the woman, she later had problems with her passport while travelling to New Zealand for a permanent stay and was arrested in Indonesia when she was three months pregnant. The incensed woman narrated further that while in cells, the Elder disowned her until she gave birth to twins in the confinement and released later in 2016 and deported to Ghana.
Upon her arrival in Ghana, she alleged the Pentecost Elder refused to accept responsibility of taking care of the twins. Starrfmonline.com’s checks indicate the Elder has dragged the woman in question to the Koforidua Magistrate Court hoping to retrieve $5,200 he allegedly wired as support for her stay in Thailand as at March 2016.
According to the Statement of Claim, Elder Ampofo said $1000 was paid to a brother of the defendant in Ghana before she travelled to Thailand and he also paid $1,700 as expenses of the defendant for her in and out re-entry to Thailand. He also stated that about $1,200 was collected in cash under the pretext of an abortion bill. Further, he gave her $700 after visiting her in Thailand and $600 to secure a passport.
