Some members of the Ghana Football Association want the Israeli trainer out following the current insipid performances of the team.
Ghana suffered a woeful start to the 2018 World Cup qualifiers after claiming just a point out of a possible six.
This has fuelled talks that Avram Grant should be shown the exit before the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
But Oti Akenteng reckons the timing is inappropriate and talks about axing Avram Grant is way off the mark.
“I think it will not be wise, honestly, if we rush into such a decision…. why don’t we take our time, we gave the man a target, let’s see…the first one he did it, and we have asked him to go and win the AFCON (2017), he hasn’t gone yet, and you say we have sacked him, on what basis are you sacking him”. He told Empire FM
“We are all elite people, we are all very knowledgeable, and we know that the coach is under contract…and I will be very surprised”.
“I don’t know if we have money to be able to offset these things and also to go into battle of this nature when we have an important assignment ahead of us”.
